I don't read a lot of blogs but I have a few that I have now been following for a few months or longer. The one I have been following the longest is MckMama (http://mycharmingkids.net/). I actually started reading hers off and on a few years ago when their youngest son (at that time) was in the hospital for a heart condition. It was a heart wrenching blog about the terrible things they had to watch their little boy go through. There were many times she wrote that it didn't look like he would be making it through the night or have to be on machines/medications the rest of his life. But God had other plans for her little guy and he came out of everything healthy as can be.
I started reading her blog more regularlily this past February and enjoy it very much. They have 5 kids...I think all under the age of 7 or something like that. MckMama is always very open about their life which is refreshing to see what we all have to deal with. Their latest adventure has been to pack up the family (and dog) into an RV and travel around the United States. She does photography so has photo shoots set up around the country. The kids are homeschooled so they didn't have to worry there, but she said that so far life on the road has been great. Of course they weren't able to bring much along, just basic clothing and games/toys/crafts for the kids but she said it has been the best family time they've had in a while.
Anyways - I enjoy traveling and think it would be fun to be able to travel around like that. Even if it is for only a few weeks or months...just to be able to leave most material things at home and focus on family and the open road ahead. No big plans set in stone, stop when you want, and move on when you feel like it. It would be a great way to see the US without having to worry about crowded airports or squeezing everything into 6 days. Who knows...maybe sometime in our future we'll get the itch.
Another cool blog/website I discovered is called Wonderopolis (http://wonderopolis.org/). It's a cool site that focus on a different topic everyday. A few paragraphs about the topic...some history or some fun facts. Todays topic was prime numbers. But some other cool things I've learned about are toads vs. frogs, history of hamburgers, who invented knock knock jokes, how money is made and other cool things like that. It is probably focused a little more towards children but still interests me.
